FAQ
What is the laptop password in the bookstore?
Where is the fourth libretto in The Bibliophile?
What is the bookstore?
You play Troy Albert Higgins, the owner of a rare and esoteric bookshop in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon district. The whole of Chapter 1 happens here. No fights happen here, so use it to learn the commands described in how to play.
What rooms does it have?
| Room | What matters |
|---|---|
| Front of Store | The shop door. Two federal agents come in through the door, and you can tell short about massa. |
| Among the Books | The aisle between the front and back. A spiral staircase goes up from here. |
| Upstairs office | Your laptop, where you think to recall the password and type kublakhan. The satchel is here too. |
| Back of Store | The rear of the shop. Go down from here to reach the lower room. |
| Lower Room | A pile of unsorted books where search unsorted books finds the fourth libretto. |
The shop’s cat wanders at random between these rooms. Naming it is optional and only works when the cat is in the same room as you.
What should I do before I leave?
Take the satchel and open satchel while you are upstairs, because the game limits what you can carry and the satchel is the fix. Then go down and talk to the agents, search the Lower Room and examine the book. The exact order is in the full walkthrough. Where the shop sits relative to the rest of town is on the district map.
